Your skin is an investment. We can help you protect it.
Our TAALEPO soap is our own proprietary version of the famous Aleppo soap (Ghar Soap / Laurel Soap), which has been handcrafted in the Mediterranean and Middle East regions for centuries. This soap is made with only pure Olive oil and Laurel berry fruit oil and has a medicinal herb/ smoky earthy scent which mellows as the soap ages. Since our first soap shop was located near the Taal Lake volcano, we named this soap "TAALEPO".
And just like Aleppo soap, our TAALEPO soap is wonderful for soothing hypersensitive skin and is appreciated by people with skin which is prone to allergies, acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, dehydration and herpes.
The laurel berry fruit oil content used by various manufacturers can range anywhere from 5% to 40%. Our TAALEPO soap contains twenty percent (20%) laurel berry fruit oil.
Traditional Aleppo soap is cooked in large vats and many of the soap makers use an excessive amount of lye when cooking the olive oil. That is why you may have read somewhere that Aleppo soap needs to cure for approx. 6 months. The reason for that is because all the free alkaline content of the soap (the alkaline which did not react with the oil during saponification) needs time to break down upon slow reaction with air.Well, we use a more precise calculated method in making our TAALEPO, so our soap only needs approx. 4 to 6 weeks curing time before we sell it.
Our company is a family-owned Barangay Micro Business Enterprise (BMBE) which is built on a tradition of high quality olive oil and handmade natural soaps. We manufacture all of our own products following centuries old techniques passed on from generation to generation. We only use plant-based natural oils, organic essential oils and a variety of natural herbs, spices and botanicals to enrich the beneficial and aromatic properties of our soaps. So our soaps are vegan, paraben free, synthetic dye free and synthetic fragrance free.

Many people ask us what the name “Paradesha” means. They think it is where the word ‘paradise’ came from. And whereas the thought of all-natural soaps does make us think of a paradise where no harsh chemicals would exist, the name of our company does not mean ‘paradise farms’. We chose the name of our company from the ancient Sanskrit word paradēśa (परदेश) which means “a foreign land” or “traveling abroad to a distant land”. And paradēśa (परदेश) can be transliterated into English as ‘Paradesha’. And of course, all businesses involved in the food and natural products value chain, and those institutions that influence it, are part of the agribusiness (farming) system. Thus the name, "Paradesha Farms".
